❝We accept the love we think we deserve. ❞

― Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Moving places is not going to appease your yearning for a sense of belonging for you’ve been secretly wishing to belong to a person / you’ve been pressing down on wounds that the ones who came before left you with / only to make way for new ones / you’ve been diluting your worth and striving for a touch / no matter how rough and sullen / because you’ve been taught to accept the love you think you deserve / and you think that you deserve just enough not to be alone.

Somedays, you lie silently beside a silent someone / and it sucks the life out of you / the voice that aches to leave your throat is pushed back by your tongue / that has forgotten the taste of honey, for you’ve been savouring the bitter and choking on the sour for so long / forgotten how to build sentences since you only talk in empty words.

It’s time you came home / however broken or alone / to just yourself / give up cutting yourself in half to escape your abode and fit elsewhere / for you’re not an emotional iceberg that is on the brink of dissolving and losing its singularity / you won’t melt yourself down to be robbed of your essence and exist solely to expand the might of the ocean / for the love you deserve is immeasurable and free of constrains, just as love should be//
